Under certain conditions, Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) enables experienced pilots to convert to an aircraft type of similar characteristics to that already operated, solely by the use of a full flight simulator.

The course features cost-efficient simulator landing training as required; the airline must have the relevant approval for this.

Target Audience

Pilots who are doing an initial type rating with SAT and qualify for ZFTT.


A ZFTT is available to pilots that fulfil experience requirements on a multi-pilot turbo-jet aeroplane certificated to the standards of CS-25 or equivalent airworthiness code or on a multi-pilot turbo-prop aeroplane having a maximum certificated take off mass of not less than 10 tonnes or a certificated passenger seating configuration of more than 19 passengers.

Additionally the operator shall be approved for ZFTT by the competent authority.


The customer’s SOPs can be applied.

Examinations & Approvals

There are no checks or examinations; only the approval for scheduled flights under supervision is issued.


A full flight simulator session of 4 hours.
