Human Factors - Challenges in Health Care and Aviation

Human Factors - Challenges in Health Care and Aviation

We take great pleasure in announcing our collaboration with the UniversityHospital Zurich in the first conference on Human Factors: Challenges in Health Care and Aviation.

Thursday, February 12, 2015
Hörsaal NORD1, UniversityHospital Zurich

Human factors in itself may not be a new topic. Nevertheless, human factors research, and its translation into practice, has raised new questions and challenges. Recent research shows that contrary to expectation, an increase in quality is, at some point, followed by a degradation of safety: Is increasing complexity in aviation and health care wisely and safely met by automation? Do our safety paradigms require revision considering the ongoing changes within the two industries? How do we foster smart adherence to protocols to improve human performance? Where shall we focus our future efforts?

To tackle some of these questions, the UniversityHospital Zurich and Swiss Aviation Training joined forces in 2011, and have been cooperating on a number of human factors, safety, and research projects. Since these issues are of importance to all of us in both industries, we decided to start a diverse and innovative gathering of national and international experts to find intelligent crowd solutions for current and future challenges in human factors and safety.

As experts in the field of aviation, patient safety, and quality of care, we would like to invite you to take part in this peer-to-peer exchange.
