Type Training Level 2 (L2)

Objective

After completing the L2 Type Training Maintenance Course, the participant should be able to:

  • identify / locate major components associated with each system
  • explain the purpose and interface of the system and associated main components
  • identify, locate and describe the systems controls
  • highlight the safety precautions to be taken when working on or near the aircraft, its systems and/or its engines.

The above requires a knowledge of  the relevant manuals such as the Maintenance Manual, the Systems Schematics Manual, the Wiring Manual and the Illustrated Parts Catalogue, as well as the requisite tooling and equipment.

Content

The content of this course complies with the relevant EASA Part-147 provisions. The practical training extends to individual components, assembled units, MDS and avionics BIT procedures, and can also be offered separately within an EASA Part-145 context.

Admission requirements

The course is intended for maintenance technicians holding the licences required. Participants must have the expertise and experience to meet the knowledge and skill levels required for the corresponding EASA licences (or equivalents).

Course length

14 -15 days (depending on aircraft type)

Examination

Every participant will be required to undergo examinations – and obtain a passing grade of at least 75% – to ensure that the key course goals are achieved.
