Objectives

After completing the Type Training A Maintenance Course, the participant should be able to:

  • describe the general layout of the aircraft’s major systems
  • perform minor scheduled line maintenance checks up to weekly checks
  • identify maintenance practices that are important to the airframe, airframe systems and engines
  • identify special maintenance tooling and testing equipment
  • identify the safety precautions relating to airframe, airframe systems and engine checks and inspections.

The above requires a knowledge of and access to the relevant manuals such as the Maintenance Manual, the Systems Schematics Manual, the Wiring Manual and the Illustrated Parts Catalogue, as well as the required tooling and equipment.

Content

The content of this course complies with the relevant EASA Part-147 provisions. The practical training extends to individual components, assembled units, and can also be offered separately within an EASA Part-145 context.

Admission requirements

The course is intended for Category A maintenance technicians. Participants must have the expertise and experience to meet the knowledge and skill levels required for the corresponding EASA licences (or equivalents).

Course length

The course length depends on the customer’s wishes and required tasks

Examination

Every participant will be required to undergo examinations and obtain a passing grade of at least 75% to ensure that the key course goals are achieved.
