Borescope Training
 

Borescope Training for Saab 2000, BAe 146 / Avro RJ 85/100 series, ERJ 135/145 & EMB 170/190 series


Objectives
After completion of the Borescope training on the respective engine, the participants will be able to:

- Explain / understand the engine, main modules and it`s
components.
- Perform engine Cold and Hot Section Inspections in accordance
with the limitations prescribed in the current approved technical
documents while observing all the relevant safety precautions.
- Perform borescope repetitive inspections and SBs in accordance
with the limitations prescribed in the current approved technical
documents while observing all the relevant safety precautions.
- Perform engine borescoping for trouble shooting purposes.

This requires understanding of valid technical documentation, such as the Maintenance Manual, or other approved documentation.


Prerequisites

The participants are required to have successfully completed the specific Technicians Type Training course for Part-66 B1 or equivalent. Moreover, good English language knowledge in aviation technical english is required.


Content classroom training
Depending on the previous knowledge of the participants the amount of time required for each subject may vary. The first part of the instruction will concentrate on engine and engine components with the intention to refresh, and provide more detailed information on the component level. The second part of the instruction will concentrate on the Boroscope inspection itself.


Practical training in shop environment

Practical training is performed on shop floor. The primary purpose of this training is to familiarise the participants with the procedures, to be able to conduct the Boroscope inspection effectively in accordance with the safety requirements.
