First Aid/Medical Training
In a crisis situation seconds can make a difference. In Swiss AviationTraining's first aid/medical training your cabin crews learn how to identify emergencies and how to use medical equipment – these are skills that can save people’s lives.
Content first aid/medical training (independent of aircraft type) - physiological aspects of flying, incl. oxygen needs and hypoxia - medical emergencies in aviation - cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - basic first aid and survival training - travel health and hygiene - minimising risks - hygiene on board - dealing with a death on board - handling clinical waste - disinfecting an aircraft - staying alert and the physiological effects of fatigue - sleep psychology - biorhythms & time zone differences - use of the aircraft’s equipment (incl. the first-aid kit, the medical emergency kits, emergency oxygen & the emergency medical equipment)
Additional courses (beyond EU-OPS requirements): - automatic external defibrillation training - checklists - emergencies involving children.
