Module 1: Appearance and behaviour when in uniform or company workclothes

  • what the company expects of its employees in uniform/workclothes
  • tips for ensuring a stylish and professional appearance for staff in direct customer contact

Module 2: Body language and non-verbal communications

  • an introduction to body language - perception and interpretation
  • non-verbal communications and their constituent parts
  • what to pay attention to in dealings with others
  • eye contact - eye language - poise and foot positions
  • facial expression - hands and gestures
  • seating posture at meetings and other work-related events
  • voice and intonation
  • respecting personal space

Module 3: Appearance and behaviour in the healthcare sector

Content

This module takes certain aspects of the general rules of business etiquette and behaviour and adapts them to the specific needs of the healthcare sector, to help participants feel safe and secure in all their dealings with patients and their families today. It also includes instruction on their employer’s dress requirements and on the key importance of hygiene in all working activities.

Module 4: Body care from head to toe: facial care, make-up, the well-groomed man, hand and nail care

  • looking after hands and nails (with all the rigours they are exposed to at work and play)
